Slator and Nimdzi, two of the most recognized organizations in the language services industry, recently released their 2025 global rankings for language service providers. Crestec has been listed as a Challenger in the Slator Language Service Provider Index, and once again ranked among the top 100 language service providers in the Nimdzi Top 100.
The Nimdzi 100 ranking tracks growth and changes within the industry. According to Nimdzi, the language services industry showed a slight increase in growth over the previous year, reaching USD 71.7 billion in 2024, with broad growth for LSPs throughout the industry.
However, 2024 did not deliver Nimdzi’s originally predicted 7.0% growth. This year, economic uncertainty and other factors, such as the effect of AI on unit prices, led Nimdzi to predict slower, more linear growth at 5.6% for next year and around 5% in the coming years.
Along with mergers and acquisitions, AI technology has continued to drive growth. AI now provides organizations with good-enough translations for non-critical content, though determining what levels of accuracy and quality are acceptable remains a challenge for organizations. As Nimdzi noted in the report, LLMs integrated into SaaS platforms for translation are not quite up to the task yet, with much of their output still at the level of “pre-translation.”
Additionally, though AI has lowered unit prices for non-critical content, it has also increased demand for translation. This increase means that there will continue to be a need for human translators, checkers, and editors, as business-critical content requiring work that falls under higher price points will also increase.
Another interesting point was related to the growing need for language content. Nimdzi noted that concerns related to the economy and a lack of opportunities for formal training are leading to declining rates in the number of candidates with high-level language and translation related experience. As demands increase in a variety of specialized fields, vendors are finding it difficult to fill expert roles in languages such as Japanese and Korean.
Overall, the industry as a whole has shown stable growth since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, and most LSPs report a fairly positive outlook for 2025.

The Slator 2025 Language Service Provider Index (LSPI) had growth for the companies featured in the report at 6.6%, or around USD 8.4 billion. However, the report also noted that the growth was largely due to mergers and acquisitions, with organic growth across the majority of companies coming in flat. This year’s report features almost 300 companies, with 23 making their first appearance.
